A cattle rancher in Sonoma was having trouble with beavers blocking the outflow of a stock pond. So we got together and installed a culvert fence and pond leveler. It’s been functioning perfectly since 2014 with no maintenance. This device went in during a drought, and the pipe was so long to keep the cage out of sight at normal low water levels. The build you see here took around 7 hours from start to finish, and photos are roughly chronological. These things are like the old Volvos—safe, not sexy.
